Huber Approximation for the Nonlinear 1 Problem Mustafa
The smooth Huber approximation to the nonlinear 1 problem was proposed by Tishler and Zang (1982), and further developed in Yang (1995). In the present paper, we use the ideas of Gould (1989) to give a new algorithm with rate of convergence results for the smooth Huber approximation. Results of computational tests are reported.

Stochastic Approach to Vehicle Routing Problem: Development and Theories Abstract In this article, a chance constrained (CCP) formulation of the Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) is proposed. The reality is that once we convert some special form of probabilistic constraint into their equivalent deterministic form then a nonlinear constraint generates. Knowing that reliable computer software...
متن کاملA CTA Model Based on the Huber Function
Minimum distance controlled tabular adjustment (CTA) is an emerging perturbative method of statistical disclosure control for tabular data. The goal of CTA is to find the closest safe table to some original tabular data with sensitive information. Closeness is usually measured by 1 or 2 distances. Distance 1 provides solutions with a smaller 0 norm than 2 (i.e., with a lesser number of changes ...
متن کاملA Two Level Approximation Technique for Structural Optimization
This work presents a method for optimum design of structures, where the design variables can he considered as Continuous or discrete. The variables are chosen as sizing variables as well as coordinates of joints. The main idea is to reduce the number of structural analyses and the overal cost of optimization. In each design cycle, first the structural response quantities such as forces, displac...
متن کاملRobust and stable velocity analysis using the Huber function
The Huber function is an hybrid l1-l2 misfit measure. We demonstrate, on velocity analysis examples, that the Huber function is more robust to outlier effects, and more stable with respect to the number of iterations than the l2 norm. We also show that the Huber threshold which controls the transition between the l1 and the l2 norm may be chosen within a certain range of values without damaging...
